From SAP to Angular Development: Jorge’s journey
After 4 years with several clients I had the necessity to search for one exciting project that I could focus and dig dip into the client’s processes. I received contacts of many other companies, but Lisbon Nearshore’s approach, coupled with a world-class project, convinced me the most.
August 2018Hi!
My name is Jorge and currently I am a SAP/Angular Developer at LisbonNearshore. In this text, I will tell you a bit about my career journey.
I started as a web developer in a startup focused on software development. There, I worked mainly with Drupal for small businesses.
After six months, I had the opportunity to join an International IT Consultancy organization and started working with SAP as a SAP ABAP Developer for different kinds of businesses.
After two years, I accepted a challenge and I moved to Switzerland for 9 months to work with SAP/AngularJS and I was the first person for this new client. I loved the international experience, I felt that when you are “alone”, and when everything changes (language, places, persons, culture) the technical challenges at work are the smallest of your problems.
When I returned to Portugal, I started working with OData and Fiori because the demand was very high and I already had experience with Frontend technologies and SAP.
Afterwards, I decided it was time to make a change and accepted the challenge Lisbon Nearshore presented me with. After 4 years with several clients I had the necessity to search for one exciting project that I could focus and dig dip into the client’s processes. I received contacts of many other companies, but Lisbon Nearshore’s approach, coupled with a world-class project, convinced me the most.
It had:
– an international client, which necessarily includes occasional trips abroad (those are two things I love).
– the tech stack that I will play with is very exciting, I love to work with new technologies.
– The mindset of the company is really “different”. Being a young and innovative company, everyone is very open-minded and creative.
So here I am today, and loving every minute of it!
